Work and Financial Disorders
Some people form firm attachments to work and/or money. In therapy, you can earn a secure attachment devoid of the fears that drive those addicted to work or money. Richard Rohr states, “There are shared and agreed upon reactions in every culture and every institution. These are often the hardest to heal because they do not look like addictions as we have all agreed to be compulsive about the same things and blind to the same problems.” However sanctioned those behaviors may be by our environment, they can be as addictive as alcohol or drugs, and bring similar consequences to our personal peace and our relationships.
